Granny Annexes are becoming a very popular solution for many families who are contemplating moving their nearest and dearest in their time of need which can often leave homes cramped and crowded. The most ideal and environmentally friendly answer is to build a solid log Granny annex in your garden and offer a higher degree of independence for relatives than 'living in' the main dwelling.

They are still subject to the same permitted development rules which means planning permission and possibly building regulations approval are needed, although, so long as you have a large enough garden there should be no problem as our Log Granny annexes meet all these regulations for temporary or permenant dwelling. If you have suitable access to the site the mobile type might be more acceptable to the planning authorities than the static buildings.

Our Wycombe Retirement Log Chalet is the first 2 bed version of our popular Granny annex Log Cahalets and can be installed as temporary log cabins in your own back garden and installed under Permitted Development so it could be used to accommadate an elderly relative or when the children get too big to live in the same house as their parents. Pembroke Lodge

Konecta Modular design with round profile log exterior and plaster board interior.

It's no always about size, sometimes it's about what works for you and the Pembroke Lodge certainly works for the aging mother who wanted to move closer to her son, but not in the same house and this really worked for both Mum and perhaps more importantly both her son and his wife and children. With one bedroom and open plan lounge/dining room and walk in shower room, we managed to fit everything in, including the kitchen sink.

We first designed and built the Wokingham in 2003 and it looked pretty good them, but changes to it today means that in most cases it does not require planning permission and it has everything you will need for permanent year round living for the ageing parent, studenr or live in nanny..!

The Links was originally designed as a Hotel Room for Golfers, but since then we have re-designed it as a Granny Annex and Holiday Chalet. Built in 70mm Square Log with a spacious lounge with galley style kitchen diner, bathroom and double bedroom. Available in 88mm laminated and 92mm log sizes to meet full UK Building Regulations.

Floors and roofs are insulated to make the cabin cool in summer and cosy warm in winter. Double glazing and high quality fixtures and fittings are a feature of the quality we design and build into our log cabins. 7mtr x 5.5mtr with 1.5mtr overhang and verandah 70mm.
