Log Buildings for Schools
Ofsted guidelines state that we must provide a minimum of 2.3 sq mtr per child, however, a good rule of thumb is to allow 2.5 sq mtr which give greater flexibility on age groups of children. The Carlton Day Nursery was designed to accommodate 12 to 16 pre school children aged 3 to 5 years old.
Constructing a Day Nursery, Classroom or additional teaching places in schools using solid logs does not mean you need to compromise on safety. All glass in windows and doors is toughened and the structure is built to meet full UK Building Regulations.
When considering the Carbon Footprint of your building, contrasting from wood as compared to "traditional build" structure is both environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Wood is a natural material and is therefore close to people's hearts and is the first choice for all seasons. Its insulation qualities ensure that heating and air conditioning cost are kept to a minimum which makes them ideal for School Classrooms.
